Marilia Pellegrini presented "Container Housing" (CASA CONT Ê INER) at the 2019 Casacor exhibition in S ã o Paulo, showcasing how to transform shipping containers into modern and practical living spaces.
The concept of this project is based on sustainability and the reuse of materials. This type of structural model has the characteristics of short production cycle, high cleanliness, fast construction speed, dryness, and 100% recyclability. Despite having many advantages, due to the widespread use of industry and the usually monotonous interior decoration, people's impression of this type of building is often "cold" and "lacking in human touch". The primary task of this project is to completely change this viewpoint.
▼The residence is composed of two 40 foot containers placed side by side
This 60 square meter residence is composed of two 40 foot containers arranged side by side, including a living room, kitchen, laundry room, and bedroom suite with a comfortable bathroom. The indoor space is based on white, which creates a minimalist atmosphere while visually expanding the space. The smooth and flawless surface can conceal the industrial patterns inherent in the container, making it difficult for people to detect with their eyes. This rational and highly intelligent design was inspired by the concept of "emptiness" proposed by Yuan Yanya.

The sunshades on the ground and exterior of the residence are made of Dekton ultra dense decorative materials produced by Cosentino. This material combines a marble like texture with sun protection, stain resistance, and abrasion resistance. The architect chose to use this material for both the interior and exterior to achieve a delicate and delicate overall effect, making it impossible to see that the residence was built using a container.

The choice of container is based on considerations of contemporary demand. The architect said, "I think this house has strong functionality. For example, it can be treated as an attached building, providing living space for guests. This is a space without style or even any attributes."
The residence also has 90 square meters of outdoor space. Under the shade of the tree, there is a granite sculpture bench designed by the architect himself. The spiral shaped structure consists of 204 identical stone slabs and is installed directly on the site.
